Warsaw and Gdynia, Poland - SIXTH MEETING
The Sixth Project Meeting on the subject "IT is our future" took place in Poland from 3rd - 9th April 2016.
According to our project that meeting was planned to be held in Turkey in the partner school 75. Yil Kocatepe Ortaokulu. However, due to the current political situation and the threat of terrorist attacks the sixth meeting took place in Poland - the country of coordinator of the project.
The meeting consisted of two parts - the first one was in Warsaw, the second in Gdynia - the partner school ZS7. In Warsaw participants were working on planned topic - tolerance for differences: learning about different religions, multiculturalism, visiting temples . We visited several churches and Museum of the History of Polish Jews. Subject of diversity of religions was continued in Gdynia in Polish school during the presentation of a Turkish teacher - "Temples in Tarsus."
Students learned about history of Warsaw during the urban field game "Knowing old Warsaw". They gained in this way knowledge of the historical heritage of the Polish capital.
Science as a field of the future was present in our activities in the Copernicus Science Centre and during some lessons of computer science conducted by teachers from the partner countries: Romania, Croatia and Poland. We visited Gdańsk University of Technology. The participants took part in lectures and presentations on topics related to informatic technology and its presence in our lives and prospects of its development in the future.
Learning languages and multilingualism are important in our project, so we were improving English through participation in classes conducted by teachers from Croatia and Finland. There were used multimedia tools - laptops, screens, even smartphones. An interesting experience for students and teachers were attending on physics lesson conducted by a teacher from Bulgaria in English.
During the trip around Tricity - Gdynia, Sopot, Gdańsk participants gained understanding of the history and culture of Pomeranian and Kashubian region.
We also watched the performance of folk Kashubian band - "Bazuny," which appeared in regional costumes and presented folk dances, songs and traditional instruments.
Many integrating activities, including sport activities helped to create friendship between all participants of the Sixth Erasmus+ Project Meeting in Poland.
